Dive Crew Inspects Sunken Presque Isle Houseboat Ahead of Salvage
Our dive team recently investigated a sunken houseboat at Horseshoe Pond in Presque Isle. Muddy conditions complicated the operation. The exact cause of the sinking remains a mystery. Our president and owner, Eric Guerrein, explained that we performed a comprehensive inspection to assess the dimensions of all openings, the barge, and the house itself. This information is crucial for us to formulate an effective salvage plan.
Although we have yet to determine why the houseboat sank, we are confident that once we bring it to the surface, the cause will become clear. Currently, we are focused on the preliminary steps necessary to present a detailed proposal to the houseboat owner for its recovery. Over the coming weeks, our team will continue the work required to safely extract the houseboat. We are committed to resolving this situation efficiently and hope to have the vessel out of the water soon!
