Teresa Guerrein discusses the importance of water safety after 2 rescues were made on the same day (article published by Erie News Now).

At Lakeshore Towing, we understand the perils of Lake Erie - especially during this time of year. Teresa Guerrein, our co-owner, highlighted the dangers after a shift in wind patterns this morning led to gale-force winds, with gusts exceeding 50 mph and waves reaching heights of 9 to 14 feet.

For 37 years, Teresa has co-owned Lakeshore Towing with her husband Eric, who has four years of experience in the Coast Guard. She often warns that while people may want to fish or enjoy the water, they must be aware of the risks.

This warning comes in light of two recent Coast Guard rescues. The first involved a man near East Avenue who had to cut his sail loose after being stranded in the water for about 90 minutes due to strong winds. Shortly after, another rescue took place in Presque Isle Bay, where emergency services assisted a stranded kayaker. Fortunately, neither individual was injured.
